Agriculture Budget sets food-grain and irrigation expansion targets

Times of India reported that Agriculture Minister R. Vinoth used the maiden Agriculture Budget to set a five-year food-grain production target of 131 lakh metric tonnes and a 2026-27 target of 125 lakh metric tonnes. The Budget also spoke about expanding irrigation through farm ponds, borewells, micro-irrigation, and free three-phase power support for agriculture. The tracker records this as an agriculture implementation signal that still needs district plans, fund releases, acreage targets, procurement results, and seasonal yield data before any delivery claim can be marked complete.
